6. Services Offered*
The key issue is knowing the facts. We measure the situation of the organization against five hundred fifty seven Best Practices, composed of thousands of Capabilities, covering seventeen categories of Organizational Enablers, the three domains of Project, Program and Portfolio, in addition to four stages of Improvement: Standardize, Measure, Control and Continuously Improve. In this respect, CMCS provides four consultancy service:
- Certified OPM3 ProductSuite Assessments
- Certified OPM3 ProductSuite Improvement Plans
- Improvement Project Planning
- Improvement Project Execution

6.1 Certified OPM3 Assessments
The result for a rigorous Assessment – which might take two to six weeks depending on the size, complexity and geographical dissipation of the organization would be a comprehensive Official Assessment Report, including tables, web-charts and graphs to indicate the current maturity, findings and existence(Fully, Mostly, Partially, None) of the various Capabilities and Best Practices within the Organization. This report indicates the level of existence of governance, documentation, communication and implementation per each Best Practice, amongst other factors.
6.2 Improvement Plans
The Improvement Plan, which requires around two weeks, will designate within another report Low hanging Fruits (Best Practices that could be achieved with minimum/effort or investment), Strategic Best Practices for meeting the organizations objectives, in addition to Pre-requisite or enabling Best Practices.
After the hand-over of the reports generated by Assessment and Improvement, which can only be delivered by a PMI Certified OPM3 Assessor/Consultant using ProductSuite standard tools and report formats that are understood and used by all similar consultants worldwide, 2 optional consultancy services are presented:
6.3 Improvement Project Planning
Developing Project Management Plan for Improvement, while setting the scope to select from some of the missing Best Practices, as no organization can handle attacking everything at one shot.
6.4 Improvement Project Execution
Implementing the Approved Project Improvement Plan. This service can be developed using in-house resources (especially where experienced executives and staff are available) but are outsourced in many cases, mostly because the current team either does not have enough capacity in terms of time as they are busy managing their current operations. Or lack some of the necessary expertise in PMI Standards and Best Practices. After conducting the Assessment, organizations might find the need to:
- Train employees
- Develop Governance Body
- Add a PMO to the organization structure
- Develop documented processes
- Prepare Standard Operating Procedure Manuals
- Implement advanced tools
- Various numerous activities
and much more; the system will show us where it hurts most, and where our investment will generate the best value for investment. It helps focus on solving the big and recurrent causes of problems first, then handling details at a later stage, hence increasing maturity and enhancing excellence.
